Community members joined our fellows to attend the congregational Eid prayer and celebrate Eid al-Fitr. Eid Al-Fitr, also known as the “Holiday of Breaking the Fast”, is celebrated by Muslims worldwide because it marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. The day starts with performing a special prayer service at the mosque, known as Salat al-eid. Our fellows and their guests attended the Salat-al-Eid at a mosque in Washington D.C.
In the spirit of Eid, everyone came dressed in their finest clothes, ready to embrace the joy and blessings of this festive occasion.
